People who listen to glass tweeters should throw no stones
"Sony Corp. has announced that it is set to launch the world's first
speaker system that uses a glass tube rather than paper and magnesium for
the diaphragm. At just over six feet tall, the new speaker system,
Sountina, produces sound from a glass tube that covers 360 degrees without
the use of multiple speakers. In addition to the organic glass tweeter, the
speaker features a 13-cm subwoofer and 7-cm mid. Specs include a 50-
20,000Hz response, as well as inputs for analog RCA and digital coax and
optical TOS supporting up to 24bit/96kHz linear PCM (stereo). According to
Sony, Sountina will shed its prototype status and become a production item
late next month with a price tag of approximately $10,000."

And what a strage product it is! Aparrantly you put just one of them
in the centre of a room. Not quite sure why it needs a stereo input?
Suppose they'll sell a few to rich idiots.

"Organic glass" kind of jumped out at me.
So I looked it up. It's just friggin PLASTIC!
Thus:
==================================
(ör?gan·ik ?glas)
(materials) An amorphous, solid, glasslike
material made of transparent plastic.
==================================
Ahhh, the wonders of marketing speak!

I am reminded of the time I was in an electronics store some years ago.
A salesman was following me around, of course. I don't remember what it
was, but I commented on something being five hundred dollars. The
salesman was VERY quick to correct me: It was ONLY $499.95.

You're not up on the latest marketing speak. You never mention
'plastic', it's always *resin*!
Say it three times, 'resin, resin, resin....'
