Using the patterns without buying every keyboard?

Almost every day a new keyboard appears on the market with interactive
musical patterns... Korg M3 with its Karma sequences, Yamaha XS with
its arpeggios, the Roland E's with "music styles"... the list keeps
expanding every day.

Did anyone find a way yet how to use all these patterns without having
to buy each new keyboard? Does a software product exist that mimics
the intelligent pattern creation abilities (and recorded sequences) of
these units?

I was toying with Band-In-A-Box for a while in the hope it might
provide the answer, but it seems to be focused towards a vintage (Pre-
Chick Corea) jazz idiom, not contemporary style & sound.
