Where does Protools get it's warmth
Hi and I don't have protools but have heard the warm tape analog sound
you can get from protools. So how does it get that sound? I use a
Windows machine and was wondering if it's the Mac that gives it that
sound or a plugin or is it protools itself? thanks in advance. Andrew

At the risk of feeding trolls, all digital audio programs put out
exactly what you put in. There is no characteristic feel or warmth
to any one program. Perhaps you have heard a plugin effect that you
appreciated.

Like everyone else here, I could have sworn you were not sincere. Warm
it up with a tube micpre and possibly better mics. Have you looked into
a higher quality A/D/A thru box, too? While I'm at it.. how's the
quality of your listening environment?

Oh, come now. Everyone knows that Macs are warmer and friendlier than PCs.

PT is just a storage device.... it's the front end (what you feed it with)
that comprises the majority of it's contents. Shit in = Shit out, is the
term most used to describe this. ;-) The rest of the formula is
pretty much, 'experience'.

I think you'd have better luck in the audiophile newsgroups with this
kind of troll.
