cheap, no thrills, multi-track recording software for mac os x
hey. i have pro tools le, but sometimes i write a song and just wanna
program that i can run, use the built in speaker on my macbook pro, and
be able to record an initial guitar track, overdub a vocal, maybe a lead
track.. something i can boot up fast so i can record a song quickly..
(before i switched to the mac i used a program called n-track that's
only for windows and it worked perfectly.)
it doesn't have to have any bells or whistles, freeware would be
preferable..
thanks,
-adam

cool. this works perfect. never even thought to go into the garageband
settings and set them to the built in audio.
is there a program that can record from the built in sound card (i.e. if
i was watching a movie and i wanted to record a quote that's being
playing through the built-in sound card).
thanks again. HUGE help!!

Try Audacity. It feels like a 2-track application that someone has grafted
some multitrack stuff onto, but it will do what you want and is free.
Or Garage Band....
